Lately I’ve been grateful for families who care…who make time and share their “wealth.” And by wealth I do not mean money. I mean their personal riches – the treasures of their personality and goods that come from the heart… For a mom and dad who stop in with housewarming flowers and say “It’s already looking so homey!”… For an aunt and uncle who drop in and say, “you’re young, you’ll do great here.” And another aunt who sends a kind housewarming card.
Lately I’ve been grateful for a mother-in-law who forgives our puppy for both a tumble on the ice and an accident in the house.
Lately I’ve been grateful for our service men and women – for how they put themselves last when they put on their uniform and make sacrifices and heroic choices that often go unseen and unheard – “just another day at work.”
Lately I’ve been grateful for a house to clean and arrange, to paint and to decorate, to take our money in exchange for happiness and a place to make a home.
